Quote of the Month! January

“To those who can dream there is no such place as faraway.”

I am really looking forward to a clean slate. The start of a new year makes me feel like I can achieve anything… so watch this space. This quote feels right for January, hope it inspires you to!

Quote of the Month! December

As  put it…

“Teach me to shudder”

During December, I was lucky enough to stumble across Alabaster DePlume and the Copernicus Ensemble at the Cube Cinema, Bristol. It was a magical performance; a beautifully poetic and hilarious journey.

Missalayneous quotes Alabaster dePlume

You can buy Alabaster’s new LP ‘Copernicus’ on his website and Bandcamp

Vintage Clothes Screen

I’d always wanted a vintage clothes screen…

My boyfriend’s Dad noticed that there was a vintage clothes screen shaped hole in my life and kindly offered to make me the wooden frames, which I hinged together with concertinerd scraps of leather.

The fun part was the decorating, I used a mixture of old and new wrapping paper, magazine cutouts and vintage maps to cover the screen

Gold and glitter makes December my favourite month

My beautiful and talented flatmate added Christmas cheer to our home this year by making this golden Christmas branch.  A fun and relaxed alternative to the standard tree!  The branch was taken from our garden, covered in glitter glue and adorned with bespoke decorations made from trinkets and broken old (but still very much loved!) jewellery.

Quote of the Month! November

As Albert Einstein put it…

“Creativity is contagious. Pass it on”

einsteinThere is a part of me that doesn’t know why I have started blogging… especially being rather shy and having the time constraints of working full time.

Since graduating from a fine art degree (a little while ago now) and jumping straight in to the world of work, I have struggled to find a suitable creative outlet.

It feels right that this quote from Mr Einstein forms the basis of my first post. I have been inspired by the creativity that is all around us on the internet and have caught the bug… now I want to pass it on and share my creative ramblings with you all.

Thanks Albert, I needed that push in the right direction!

What would you like to share and why?
