Handmade by Non

I am so happy to welcome my best friend to her regular guest spot – Handmade by Non – in which Non shares with us all things crafty and beautiful from her handmade, stylish world…over to you, Non! XxX

“Hi my name is Rhiannon, Non for short… today I’ll share with you a recent up-cycled jumper, using some leather scraps left over from a recent project”

Pre-sewing

Pre sewing. This jumper was a bit boxy and shapeless to start with.

Use correct needle

I ensured I used a blunt ended needle and thick thread to sew the jumper together. I used a finer, sharp needle and thread suitable for leather, to sew on the patches.

Embellishments

I added buttons and beads to the pocket for extra embellishment.

I Love Patchwork Quilts…

Love Quilting and Patchwork Magazine

There is definitely a love of all things patchwork in our house… in fact I would go as far as saying we’re all patchwork mad!

To date I have only bought patchwork quilts but now feel it is time to start making my own (to keep my collection up to date and my purse healthy).

I was delighted to see this Love Quilting & Patchwork Magazine on sale on Valentines Day and thought I’d share the love with you all. The magazine covers all aspects of quilting including step-by-step projects, behind the scenes features and everything fabric and design related to see, read, visit and buy.

At £4.99, Love Quilting & Patchwork Magazine is a real keeper… I know I’ll be referring back to mine!

Pick up your copy from WHSmiths and all good newsagents, or order from www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk

Here’s a selection of our favourite quilts from around our house… enjoy!

Clothes Swap Bath!

Swap your way to a new wardrobe!

A couple of weeks ago I attended Clothes Swap Bath! – a social night with a real sense of community that’s also good for your carbon footprint! This months event was held at the Green Park Tavern; I got a new coat and a bag of swag! All you need to do is clear out your wardrobe (no amount of clothes too big or too small) and come along… what could be better than free clothes, great company and booze!

Thank you so much to Ruby and Squid for keeping this wonderful tradition going, without these two super organised ladies there would be no Clothes Swap Bath! as we know it! 🙂

Look at this treasure…

“I’m Rosey and I live on a boat just outside of Bath with my boyfriend and my cat. We’ve been on board for close to four years now and love our cosy home. I love all manner of crafts, although crochet is my go to… Its so nice to sit on the sofa, watching a film while a blanket grows around you!”

Thanks so much, Rosey, for sharing your home and these beautiful photos with us! You can visit Rosey and her gorgeous crochet blankets at her blog, roseylivesonaboat. xxx
